CHATANOOGA, TN – A semi truck crashed into a guardrail on Highway 27 North in Chattanooga, Tennessee when the flatbed trailer, carrying a roll of steel weighting 47,000 pounds, buckled.
The accident happened around 6 a.m. Thursday morning, September 23, near the intersection of U.S. 27 and the 4th Street exit. Arthur Littlefield was the driver behind the wheel of the semi when he started going through the curves near 4th Street.
Tennessee Department of Transportation crews had to call in a small crane on the back of a wrecker to lift the steel off the highway and load it onto another truck.
Littlefield wasn’t injured in the wreck and says he’s just glad that nobody else was either.
