Comments from our Trucking Accident Attorneys
Truck drivers, like all drivers, must obey traffic control devices. There is no excuse for a professional truck driver running a red light or a stop sign. The truck driver is taught to be on the lookout for these traffic control devices at intersections and to adjust his speed so he has time to stop if a light turns red. This type of an accident is always preventable and the fault of the truck driver. The conduct may rise to the level of punitive damages depending on the reason for the error, which could even further compensate the family of Mr. Lucas.
