Macy’s Agrees To Pay Penalty For Failing To Report Sales Of Defective Clothing

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced July 11 that Macy’s Inc. has agreed to pay a $750,000 civil penalty for failing to report that it had illegally sold children’s sweatshirts, sweaters and jackets with drawstrings at the neck between 2006 and 2010 (In the Matter of Macy’s Inc., CPSC Docket No. 11-C0006).
