Judge Finds Homeowner’s Mold Claims Are Excluded Under Insurance Policy

NEW ORLEANS – A Louisiana federal judge on June 21 granted partial summary judgment for an insurer, finding that a homeowner failed to show that her insurer acted in bad faith and that her insurance policy explicitly excluded coverage for mold damage beyond a $5,000 policy limit (Barbara King v. Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Co., No. 10-3395, E.D. La.; 2011 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 65538).
