Illinois Appeals Court Affirms Award To Builder On Contract Counterclaims

ELGIN, Ill. – An Illinois appellate panel on July 21 upheld a $113,600 award to a construction firm on counterclaims for breach of a construction contract, concluding that the plaintiffs failed to show that the defendant was not entitled to expenses incurred while working on the project (Keith Burchett, et al. v. J.P. McMahon Builders Inc., No. 2-10-0611, Ill. App., 2nd Dist.; 2011 Ill. App. Unpub. LEXIS 1713).
