Judge: Insureds Intentionally Misrepresented Material Facts Related To Claim

NEW ORLEANS – A homeowners insurer has successfully established that Louisiana insureds intentionally misrepresented material information related to their insurance claim seeking coverage for Hurricane Gustav damage, a Louisiana federal judge held July 8, granting the insurer’s motion for summary judgment (Freddy Chavez, et al. v. Homesite Insurance Company, No. 10-3459 SECTION: R(2), E.D. La.; 2011 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 73866).
