DME, Pharmacy Owner And Employee Indicted For Health Care Fraud

SAN FRANCISCO – The owner and operator of a pharmacy and durable medical equipment (DME) supplier and one of its employees were indicted on June 29 in a California federal court for allegedly participating in a scheme to defraud Medicare, California’s Medi-Cal Program and privately sponsored health insurance programs by submitting false and fraudulent claims for prescriptions and DME (United States of America v. Edward G. Kluj, et al., No. 11-00422, N.D. Calif.).
